Study Links Feline Lymphoma and Passive Cigarette Smoke:

According to a recent article in Veterinary Practice News magazine, cats living in homes where people smoke cigarettes are more than twice as likely as other cats to acquire feline lymphoma.

The study included 180 cats, Scientists at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Massachusetts conducted the research.  Cats living in homes where humans smoked a pack or more than of cigarettes a day had more than three times the risk of lymphoma than did cats in nonsmoking homes.

The study also raises questions about the link between the feline leukemia virus and feline lymphoma.
